Sweden crown Nigeria champions again Sweden coach Roland Larsson has said Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will be world champions again after they lost 3-0 in Tuesday’s semi-final. Nigeria battle defending champions Mexico, who spanked nine-man Argentina in the other semi-final, in Friday’s final in their quest for a record fourth World Cup. “We lost to the champions,” Larsson told the media at the end of a match in which his team were thoroughly outplayed and now face Argentina for third place. Meanwhile, the Eaglets earned double their match bonus on Tuesday after they reached the final of the FIFA U17 World Cup. Sports minister Bolaji Abdulahi made a pledge to double the team’s bonus for both the semi-final and final matches. He also predicted a bright future for the Nigerian football, describing the Eaglets as a project dear to his heart. Speaking with the team, the Minister said the players have shown in the course of time that they would go places if they remained disciplined. "I took so much pride in this team since the first day you started assembling the players last year and I'm so happy about what you have collectively achieved," he said. "Everybody has been saying it that you are the future of Nigerian football and you have proved it with your performance here."
