Liverpool transfer news: Alberto Moreno says he has 'seen something' over January move to Real Madrid

Alberto Moreno has been linked with a move to Real Madrid repeatedly in recent years
Alberto Moreno has reassured Liverpool fans that Real Madrid have not approached him regarding a January move, despite reports in Spain suggesting Rafa Benitez is desperate to sign him as back-up to Marcelo. The left-back has been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu stretching back to the days he was still at Sevilla, but he claims the La Liga giants have never contacted him directly.
During the summer AS claimed Real Madrid were offered the chance to sign the Spaniard after he started the campaign as a substitute under Brendan Rodgers. However, Benitez then ruled the signing out, believing he had the position sufficiently covered by Marcelo, Alvaro Arbeloa, Danilo and academy star Nacho.
Asked about whether he has been ever close to joining Real Madrid in an interview with Cadena Cope, Moreno said: "Being honest I've never had anything serious with Real Madrid. The report claimed that the club are monitoring a number of left-backs around Europe, but Moreno is seen as a prime candidate as he is not cup-tied for the Champions League, with Liverpool playing just Europa League football this season.
"Neither me nor my brother, nor my agent or my father. Nothing. There has been news but it was never something real."
Questioned about recent reports claiming that the Spaniards will try to sign him in January, he insisted: "I have seen something but I say the same: I don't know if is true. But yes, I have seen something."
