Chelsea finally sign Traore on four-and-a-half year deal after wonderkid is granted a work permit. Chelsea have finally signed 18-year-old wonderkid Bertrand Traore. The Europa League holders had been waiting for the exciting Burkina Faso attacking midfielder to be granted a work permit and faced a nervous wait as several other sides became interested in Traore after he impressed during Chelsea's pre-season tour of Asia. But Traore has decided to remain at Stamford Bridge, signing a four-and-a-half year deal. He is expected to play a part in November's World Cup qualification play-off second leg against Algeria - he came on as a sub during the 3-2 first-left win. During the pre-season tour to the Far East, Traore impressed, playing a part in all three games as well as scoring twice against the Malaysia XI and Indonesia XI. Following his goal in Indonesia during the summer defender Gary Cahill was full of praise for Traore, saying: 'He's a young lad, but I'm sure he's got a bright future at Chelsea.
