Chelsea's Demba Ba puts himself in the shop window? #UCL Demba Ba scored his first goal of the season on Wednesday night asChelsea secured a comfortable win over Schalke 04 With Fernando Torres out of action for the next couple of weeks, Wednesday night's game against Schalke 04 and Saturday's against West Bromwich Albion have provided opportunities for Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba. Both strikers grabbed their opportunity with two goals for starter Eto'o and one for his replacement Demba Ba. The Senegalese striker's goal was a lovely executed left foot effort on the turn which securedChelsea's 100th win in UEFA competitions. It has been a tough season so far for the formerNewcastle United striker. Eto'o and Torres have clearly been preferred by Jose Mourinho with Demba only in twoPremier League game so far. Romelu Lukaku is continuing to impress on loan at Everton too, so Ba's future doesn't look too great for the short or long-term.Premier League clubs are well aware of his capabilities and they will be plenty interested in his signature come January if Chelsea were willing to sell. Ba himself will be hoping to be given more of a chance to prove himself at the very top of European football. A hindrance to his chances is the fact that fellow striker Eto'o also showed his ability to put away a couple of chances. Mourinho is a big fan of the Cameroonian striker having managed him at Inter Milan too. He was given his chance following Torres' injury tonight and made the most of it, making it very likely that he will again start in the Premier League match against the Baggies on Saturday. Chelsea fans were certainly encouraged to see Demba Ba net his first goal of the season.
